WHO IS THE CHARITY RECIPIENT?
This year’s recipient of the Sewing Holiday Charity Sew is Children’s Miracle Network via Unity Point Health-St. Luke’s Sioux City.
UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s is proud to be one of Children’s Miracle Network 170 hospitals in North America. Our mission is simple: we save kids’ lives. Through the generosity of our donors, St. Luke’s Children’s Miracle Network is able to fund life-saving equipment, programs and services, as well as toys, books and crayons for hospitalized children and their families.
St. Luke’s Children’s Miracle Network is impacting record numbers of babies, kids and families. In 2014, our funds touched a record number of 2,136 births at St. Luke’s, a record number of 21,000 pediatric visits to our UnityPoint Health system in Siouxland, including nearly 400 sick and premature babies in St. Luke’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In 2016, we have committed to fund more than $170,000 in 2016 for life-saving equipment, community programs, and family assistance for Miracle Kids and their families. These funds impact many departments including our St. Luke’s Pediatric Unity, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Infusion, Respiratory Care, Surgery, Spiritual Care, and UnityPoint Health and Home.
Every dollar raised in Siouxland for Children’s Miracle Network stays in Siouxland and impacts your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and possibly, even you. One of the more frequent phrases we hear is: “We never expected to need the services of Children’s Miracle Network.” Families never anticipate an emergency or a life-altering diagnosis.
Your time & generosity in creating items for the Charity Sew will help Siouxland kids in their most critical hours. Thank you for being a Miracle Maker!
